Use of Proceeds
The proceeds will be allocated to hiring across product engineering and sales, and to business investment aimed at expanding adoption among clients in Japan and abroad. We will continue our work toward a world in which people are recognized and utilized by their Caliber, not their credentials.
From Our Investors

I have known Shohei since our graduate school years, and we had been discussing his ideas long before he founded the company. As generative AI spreads through society, the very question of how we evaluate people is being asked anew, from the ground up.
One answer we kept arriving at was dialogue — the format humanity has long used to deepen knowledge. Deep, dialogue-based evaluation has historically been one of the hardest areas to scale, and Calaris is taking it on with AI. We are fully behind the team and the road ahead.
Noriaki Sakamoto
Representative Director, COO & Managing Partner, The University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners (UTEC)

As AI raises the difficulty of evaluating people, Calaris is building a new foundation for measuring essential capability — while pursuing an outstanding experience for both employers and candidates. What stood out was the strength of the leadership and engineering team: a deep understanding of Japan's hiring and HR landscape, paired with the ability to deliver global-grade product quality and UI/UX.
We look forward to seeing this challenge — bringing light to the Caliber that credentials alone cannot capture — grow from Japan into a global movement, and D4V will support that journey from the design and user-experience side.

From the CEO

Through years of working in recruiting, talent development, and consulting alongside teams inside companies, I have come to feel firsthand that human potential reaches far beyond credentials. We call this less-visible, essential capacity Caliber. We hope to contribute to building the mechanism that surfaces this capacity accurately, sharpens it, and connects it to opportunity.
UTEC and D4V have been partners we've been in dialogue with since the earliest days of shaping the product. With this round as our starting point, we will continue building toward the world we set out to create — From Credentials to Caliber — where people are recognized and utilized by the value they will create, not by the credentials they already hold.
